Director of Christian Education

Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church (MPPC), just outside of Charleston, SC , is seeking an experienced Christian Educator with an advanced degree who is passionate about faith formation to serve as our Director of Christian Education (DCE). The DCE will report to Head of Staff and will have three primary responsibilities:

* planning and overseeing our adult educational offerings;

* managing the three-member team of children and youth Christian educators; and

* working with the director of the church’s community preschool to advise and oversee the Christian education curricula for The Learning Center.

FPCS Children’s Ministry Job Posting

First Presbyterian Church (www.fpcspartanburg.org) of Spartanburg, SC is seeking a full-time Director of Children’s Ministry to oversee the ministry with children birth – 5th grades and their families. FPCS is a 2300-member downtown church actively involved in mission and serving the surrounding community.


In collaboration with the Children’s Education and Discipleship Committee, the Director of Children’s Ministry will develop and implement a vision for children’s ministry that will encourage and challenge children and their families to become disciples of Christ through a rich variety of opportunities undergirded by vital, caring relationships with adults. Children’s programming includes Sunday school, Children’s Worship on Sundays, weekly chapel for the Weekday School, special events, and Kids’ Crossing on Wednesday evenings.

The ideal candidate would combine a highly-relational approach with the maturity and organizational skills to connect and communicate well with children, parents, and volunteers. A Bachelor’s degree, at least 2 years of experience in Christian Education, and the ability to recruit and equip volunteers are required.
